Legend has it, that in 1681 in the west indies, the Carib people shot an English settler with a poison arrow and refused to help him, knowing the only cure was Arrowroot.  Great as a thickening agent for soups and stews, but also a great gluten-free alterative to using wheat flour in your baked goods.
