Carum carvi

Caraways Seeds have been found in archaeological digs of ancient lake dwellings in Switzerland dating back to around 5000 BC, which make some to believe that Caraway is the first spice used in European cuisine. The warm, sweet, pungent flavors of Caraway seeds are reminiscent of anise with dill undertones and can be found in cuisines from around the world.
